The NI 9234 inch 4-channel Dynamic Signal Acquisition (DSA) module manufactures high-precision measurements from IEPE sensors. These C-series analog input modules provide a dynamic range of 102 decibels and perform signal conditioning on accelerometers and microphones using IEPE (2 milliampere constant current). At the same time, the four input channels achieve a rate of 2-50 kHz or, compared to NI 9234, up to 51.2 kS/s. In addition, the module includes a built-in anti aliasing filter that automatically adjusts to your sampling rate. The NI 9234 module is ideal for various mobile/portable applications, such as industrial machine status monitoring and in vehicle noise, vibration, and harsh testing.

The method of A/D conversion used by the NI 9234 module is called delta sigma modulation. If, for example, at a data rate of 25 kS/s, each ADC is actually at an input signal data rate of 3.2 MS/s (128 samples) and is added to a digital filter for sampling. Then this filter will expand the data to 24 bits, reject the signal component greater than 12.5 kHz (Nyquist frequency), and digitally resample the data at the selected data rate of 25 kS/s. The combination of analog and digital filtering provides an ideal accurate representation and can suppress signals from out of band. The built-in anti aliasing filter will automatically adjust its signal differentiation based on the frequency range or bandwidth of the signal.
